Farming in Fall

We like working with green growing things. In the Spring, it’s all about growing great pasture for the animals. In the winter, we focus more on growing green things for people to eat!

Here are some pictures from around the farm today (Dec 1)

The pasture above is hibernating for the winter. However, cows eat hay in the back field and we continue to rotate the places we feed hay so that nutrients are spread around. Also, presently cows have access to the whole field so they spread manure around the whole field. Our free ranging chickens scratch through the cow pies and further spread out the fertility.
Alison’s Collards above and below, love the cold weather and get even sweeter after a frost. These are for our family, but we’re looking to expand our garden offerings in the spring. Stay tuned.
Kitties posing even though I didn’t ask them too. 🙂

Beginning Microgreens

Here it is in November and we’re just getting started with Microgreens. Watch the video for our introduction to our offerings. We hope to continue to share the things we’re doing and what we’ve learned here. Enjoy!
